Let's Get to Know Hong Kong More!

Hong Kong is a dynamic city where language isn’t really a problem. In addition to that, China offers good economic and travel opportunities and Hong Kong is close enough to venture in, but not close enough to need to be fluent in Mandarin. Hong Kong is a great place from where to explore Asia, to learn about culture and to meet a variety of people.

Before going to Hong Kong, it's better to get to know Hong Kong first!

Hong Kong Gets 4 Seasons!

It is not a year-round tropical country as many people seem to believe. Summers are HOT and it gets fairly cold during the winter months (December to February).

Public Transport is Efficient

No need to worry about public transportation in Hong Kong. Hong Kong has one of the most efficient public transportation systems in the world. You often have 3 or 4 different transportation options to get from point-to-point and the coverage network covers almost every corner of Hong Kong.

Hong Kongers speak Cantonese, not Mandarin, and many people speak English!

The main language spoken in Hong Kong is Cantonese, a local dialect. It sounds fairly different to Mandarin in the sense that you might not be able to understand Cantonese fully if you speak Mandarin, and vice versa. But good news, many people speak English (or at least basic English), and almost all signs are bilingual.

Very easy to network

It is practically impossible not to network in Hong Kong. Meeting someone who will know someone that can make introductions to the right people is fairly easy. A lot of people, when searching for work, get business cards made up with their name and contact details to hand out when they meet people of interest..

High Rent

The rent is quite expensive, and the space frustratingly small.

Fast-Paced City

Life is very fast paced here. Once you are engaged in professional life, you will have no idea how fast you have aged and time has flown away. Meaning that you’re forced to be comfortable with change.

It’s a mix of tradition and modernity

Hong Kong is an autonomous territory, and former British colony, in southeastern China. It is a place with multiple personalities. Its vibrant, densely populated urban center is a major port and global financial hub with a skyscraper-studded skyline.

Hong Kong is a unique destination that has absorbed people and cultural influences from places as diverse as Vietnam and Vancouver and proudly proclaims itself to be Asia’s World City.
