SNA Special Program: Bangkok Internship

It cannot be denied that doing internship abroad will give so many benefits. Internship abroad will help students enhance their professional skills and improve their resume. An international internship will highlight the resume, from other students who they will be competing with in the workforce later on, especially if they do the internship since the early age. 

Collaborating with Singapore National Academy, we choose Bangkok as the ideal destination for year 12 students to experience their first international internship. The city is now considered as one of the best cities in the world for startups thus the students can get experience interning at one of the coolest startups on earth! In addition, Bangkok is also a great place to network with people from local and also foreigner as they are known to be very friendly and helpful.

The internship placements in Bangkok will be 5 days a week/approximately 40 hours a week. It will run for a minimum of 4 weeks and the start date is flexible. The internship can be done individually / group

Participant Profile & Projected Enrollment

The students need full English proficiency but no other foreign language proficiency is needed to complete their work tasks.

The students will need to have a strong desire to build a global portfolio of skills, expand their horizons while stepping out of their comfort zones.

General expected outcomes (All industries)

The exact nature, activities and emphasis within each internship will vary according to the student/role/host company but generally speaking students should have satisfactorily completed an intensive period of work experience that effectively inducts them into the nature, structure and organization of a company and their future work, professional roles and responsibilities.

Throughout the internship, they are expected to:

  • Develop awareness and understanding in specific roles and responsibilities in their preferred industries
  • Understand the nature of businesses in Indonesia as workplaces and their associated values, routines and cultures through an intensive experience
  • Further develop and refine their skills and professional capacity in their preference industry
  • Demonstrate an understanding of professional and ethical practice
  • Develop an awareness of networking with professionals

Our local in-country staffs have 10 years of experience managing institutional programs. The team has a great deal of experience managing various health, safety and security issues including psychological illness, illness necessitating surgery, road accidents, and terrorist attacks. Our office is happy to assist students with any program questions or concerns that they might have during their program during regular office hours. There will be a 24/7 emergency contact available to contact on out of office hours.

  • Program Risk Mitigation Strategy

During the pre-departure and in-country orientation, the group will be warned against specific risks, including the use of dangerous local transportations, the neighborhood to avoid at night, legal implications of using illicit substances, tropical diseases etc. Our team will be available during the entire program for any questions/help.

Note:

Accommodation

Your accommodation will be comfortable, safe and clean. Participants, unless otherwise requested, will be housed in shared accommodation, generally with twin beds. Laundry, postal, telephone and email facilities will be within walking distance to your accommodation.

Unless alternatives have been specifically requested, most accommodation is located in or near the inner city to allow easy access to sites. All accommodation meets strict standards and has been personally inspected by Bright Internships.

Restaurants & Meals

Meals provided as part of the program will be served at reputable local venues. There will always be vegetarian options and all special dietary needs can be catered for where specified in advance.

For meals not included in the program, the participants will have plenty of opportunity to dine out at local venues.

Transport

The itinerary has been designed to maximize comfort and safety. Transport will be either private bus charter or public transportation. All transport companies meet the highest standards and levels of insurances.
