Simple Steps to Stay Focus at Work

Simple Steps to Stay Focus at Work

The intern project’s deadline is tomorrow! Oh, what about another research task? Don’t forget, there’s paperwork need to be submitted at 12 P.M., too! Sometimes, we can feel overwhelmed by our internship works. But instead of working, we choose to scroll our Instagram feeds. We try to do our work, but the phone is tempting. Or, we decide to read a book that has nothing to do with our project. Somebody's help, I can’t stay focus!

Put Your Phone Away from You

Simple Steps to Stay Focus at Work
The first step to take before anything else is putting your phone away from you. Admit it, you can’t stay focus easily if you have a phone near you. The phone is a useful item in our life, but it can distract you from working. You can put it in silent mode before hiding it in a safe place. Hide it in a place where your eyes can’t see it, like in a desk.

Make a To-Do List

Another step to help you stay focused on your work is knowing what you’re going to do. Make a list of tasks you’ll need to finish, then write in each of them what you need to finish the work. Which one needs to be prioritized, what the work is about, what item you’ll need, and how long you plan to finish a work. Knowing what you want to do will give you a direction in your activity and remove the unnecessary activities. Don’t multitask to enhance your focused in each work.

Give Yourself a Break

The third step to do is to take a break. After doing work for a certain time, don’t forget to give your body a resting time. A little break can help you stay focus on continuing the job. Drink water, eat healthy food, or take a little walk outside before doing another job are essential. A short nap can be good but don’t forget to set your alarm or your work will pile up.
