SNA Special program: Blockchain Experiential Program

Blockchain technology is about to disrupt the old economy and transform our vision of the business. Brought in the light by the explosion of the cryptocurrency market (global market cap over USD 200 billion early October 2018 (coinmarketcap.com), this technology is proliferating and offers great potential for many industries and services.

Singapore National Academy and Bright Internships proudly present a Blockchain Experiential Program that is designed to explore the basic and advanced properties of Blockchain technology, to recognize how Bitcoin and other crypto use these properties in their ecosystem and to ultimately understand the power of disruption that is shaking business conventional rules.

Projected Participants

The program is designed for students / young professionals and faculty members of SNA with an interest in understanding blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, and their global impact on the economy.

Diversity made the success of the blockchain ecosystem, and different ages and backgrounds will make this program even more impactful for each participant. There is no prerequisite to take the program and the necessary basic knowledge will be provided during the preparatory first week.

Itinerary

Week #1 (One week to Prepare)

At the beginning of the week, you will receive documents and links to materials. This will help you to build up the first level of general knowledge on blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. By mid of the week, a quiz will be sent for you to return before your arrival in Hong Kong. The result of the quiz will be discussed in Hong Kong.

Week #2 & #3 (Experience in Hong Kong)

During the first week in Hong Kong, you will be broadly introduced to all the properties that make Blockchain a promising technology and how it is underpinning the main cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin and Ethereum).

The second week, you will focus on Blockchain’s power of disruption in a business strategy approach. You will contribute to four working groups by analyzing use cases and learning from experience. Lastly, you will build your own project or research.

Week #4 (Last week to Explore)

The last week is dedicated to your own project. Whether it is to deepen your knowledge on a particular of Blockchain or to work on your own case, we will give you the framework that will allow you to perform a professional piece of work that will enhance your skills and abilities.

General expected outcomes

Through the program, you will be able to:

  • Understand the fundamental elements of the Blockchain technology and how it will impact the New Economy
  • Get a unique perspective by sharing the experience of professionals and build a powerful network
  • Study and research on use cases and work on hands-on projects. Ultimately, you will build your own
  • Get the certificate of competence that will validate your experience and knowledge.

Note:

Accommodation

Your accommodation will be comfortable, safe and clean. Participants, unless otherwise requested, will be housed in shared accommodation, generally with twin beds. Laundry, postal, telephone and email facilities will be within walking distance to your accommodation.

Unless alternatives have been specifically requested, most accommodation is located in or near the inner city to allow easy access to sites. All accommodation meets strict standards and has been personally inspected by Bright Internships.

Restaurants & Meals

Meals provided as part of the program will be served at reputable local venues. There will always be vegetarian options and all special dietary needs can be catered for where specified in advance.

For meals not included in the program, the participants will have plenty of opportunities to dine out at local venues.

Transport

The itinerary has been designed to maximize comfort and safety. Transport will be either private bus charter or public transportation. All transport companies meet the highest standards and levels of insurances.
